A Two Dimension Fundraiser by Members of the Symphony Volunteer Council

A beautiful evening ... and an outpouring of support!
Thank you to everyone who came to our wonderful Jan. 26 event! We are pleased to announce the winner of the student composition competition: Meghan Ford. Meghan was inspired by the violin artwork titled "Polynesian Paradise/Islands and Inlets" by Dr. Lowell Vann.

Meghan's piece "Islands and Inlets" for Violin, Piano, Oboe and Spoken Word will be premiered at the Concertmaster & Friends concert on Tuesday, February 14. Click here for tickets!

Inspired By Music ...
Taking their inspiration from the beautiful music of ASO Concertmaster Daniel Szasz, local artists have transformed four violins into works of art.

You may view the violins at Samford University's Brock Hall at the first Concertmaster & Friends concert on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Following the concert, the violins will be on display at Artists, Incorporated, 3365 Morgan Drive, Vestavia Hills, AL. (205.979.8990)

Inspired By Art ...
Now, working from these amazing pieces of art, undergraduate students in the Birmingham area will compose original pieces for solo violin, or chamber ensemble for violin, piano and oboe.

If you have questions or need additional information, please call Lavonne Sanders at 205.969.8160.
