You can leave a lasting legacy of music!
The symbol at the heart of our logo is the fermata. When placed above a note, a fermata tells a musician to sustain that single, clear note indefinitely. Your endowment contribution can ring as long as that note when you join the Encore Society.
The Encore Society was established by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra to recognize individuals who make gifts to the ASO through their estate plan by bequest or other planned gift. A planned gift to the ASO allows you the opportunity to share your love and passion of orchestral music for many years to come — while also giving your estate numerous tax advantages and other benefits.
One such person who made a lasting gift to the ASO was Mr. Charles E. Young. Mr. Young, while not an extravagant man, loved music and the arts, and believed it was of great importance for music education to play a significant role in school-children's lives. Mr. Young made a bequest to the ASO, and in his will requested that there be educational concerts performed in Alabama schools in memory of his parents. The Eliza C. and C.S. Young Memorial Concerts are our most popular student concert series, serving tens of thousands of schoolchildren every year.
Your planned gift will enable the Alabama Symphony Orchestra to continue to enrich the lives of Alabama citizens, of all ages, through its artistic and educational programming for generations to come. Most importantly, planned gifts will insure the long-term financial strength of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and enable our state's orchestra to continue offering the finest in performances and educational programs for future generations.
